I purchased this 1939-D LWC to upgrade the one I had. It really has alot of pink and purple toning in it that the photos do not show well. The sellers 2x2 simply stated CH-BU. What do you think it grades?

One other question I have is you will notice there is a green spot at 8:00 and there is another one right next to Lincolns shoulder at about 7:00. I did not notice these spots at the coin shop. Is this of major concern?

Do you think it is a candidate for verdi-care

I can't see the spots well, but if you decide to use VC, just use the toothpick method.

Will Verdi-Care alter the color on toned coins like this one?

Only if it's artificial color. VC is very gentle and will not strip natural patina. However, there's no need to just go dunking the whole coin in and I would not recommend that.

When you get to these nicer, higher grade coins you need to simply spot treat. Use as tiny of a drop as you can, just enough to cover a spot, let it sit a couple minutes, then carefully blot it off and let dry. If the verdigris is light, it will come right off.
