You didnt include 2x2's - I store the bulk of my collection in staple 2x2's. For the more valuable coins, I store them in lighthouse QUADRUM capsules, mainly because I like the way they look.

I agreee with enoilgam you don't have 2x2 then in a 3 ring binder/album unless you mean albums to cover all?

I would think coin flips and slabs would be considered holders while albums, folders and maybe even wall safes and safety deposit boxes would be considered the actual storage. Am I right?

I suspect he means cardboard and/or plastic 2x2's for flips. Of course this would also have to include 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 and other sizes as well. Now if you put them in those Red Storage boxes by Whitman, that also could be the place of storage so those too would have to be added. Likewise with those plastic pages that hold 20 of the flips. Quote: would think coin flips and slabs would be considered holders while albums, folders and maybe even wall safes and safety deposit boxes would be considered the actual storage. Am I right? Sort of true also. Coins could be stored in a 2x2, placed in those plastic 20 holder pages and then put into a 3 ringed binder and that could be placed in a safe deposit box. So just which one of those would be the place of storage? Quote: please only vote once.thanks f16 Should really say just the opposite since most collectors I know use more than one place and type of place for their coins. Even if a few more choices were added, I would need to check them all. Quote: This is a weid poll I know please stay away from negative feed back please. Hopefully you don't think these are negative replys, only attempts at helping you make a more accurate poll.

f16, There is no need to be rude to people here. We are just trying to help you make a better poll so you can get more accurate answers.

No reason to be rude f16 and Tropical2. Sure it was a simple question, but the pool options were poorly worded.
I voted 2x2 because most of mine coins are kept in them. Then they go in the plastic pages or in the long narrow boxes made to hold stapled 2x2s.

f16 please note we are all attempting to help you make a better pole, not insult you. No one here wants to irritate you or make fun of you, only trying to help. Again, as I said I could check all of the options and many more and so could probably most collectors. The best thing about such a poll would be to estimate which type of storage is most used and again, give as many options as possible. That is what this forum is basically all about. Helping others. Again, no one is purposely trying to irritate you at all.

I may be paranoid, but I figure if coins are not in a safety deposit box away from my house, then my activities online might/could remotely make me a better target for an "unscrupulous character." Someone doing research to look for a target might do their homework.

Someone doing research to look for a target might do their homework. Almost an entirely different topic for discussion. AND it has come up many times. NO your not paranoid, just smart. Today people should be more aware of what they put on the internet. Not to long ago I showed someone that with their photo, real name, a few other things on FACEBOOK, then a trip to People Search, I found their address, phone number, email address, age, education background, marital status, amount of kids, names of other relatives and lots more. So be real carefull of what you put into the internet.

Thanks for setting this up. I will be interested in keeping an eye on this. I am a newer collector, and I have said many times, my enthusiasm is high, knowledge is low. I have purchased a few bulk lots of old British Coins, as well as German coins. Both were pretty low value and the brits were copper, and the German had a high count of prewar, so I figured my $20 was safe. I have also done some roll searching, putting together a State and ATB set. I now have coins all over the place, and stored differently. For now, I have chosen to go with cardboard flips with 20 pocket pages for the bulk items, folders for the state and ATB coins, and plastic snap tights for the Morgans and Peace dollars that I have. Hope this helps, and good luck.
