Seriously, $900 is about tops for it. I definitely wouldn't trade him my UNIQUE coin for his. He'd have to kick in a lot of extra cash or trade! Will you at least tell us how you became the guardian of such an exquisite piece of numismatic history, As you said QC was supposed to be super high on all Proofs issues due to proofs weren't just bought at the Mint and were given out to dignitaries, political figures, and the like. It's amazing to me that this "boo boo" survived. I can just picture the person putting the blanks on the press and starting to strike it and going "OH NO Stop the Press!" and realigning it and striking it again thinking no one would notice or maybe it got tossed to the side and picked up or pocketed by the worker due to it being "messed up". I wish I knew the history, but since I don't I like to make up my own theory. I am truly lucky to have found this coin it was definitely a right time right place scenario. Did you ever get an accurate 'insurance' value for the piece? I will now be attending ALL of the local gun shows.
