Hi Amac

If you want opinions on the grade of the coin,, post good pics both obverse and reverse in the coin grading forum .

The doubling on the date appears to be deterioration doubling to me,, of course and as always opinions may vary.

It's not deterioration doubling, that happens either toward or away from the edge of the design. This is just typical Strike Doubling.

In that case you're not asking for grading, you're asking for attribution. They are completely different terms. Grade specifically refers to evaluating the condition of the coin as a whole. Attribution refers to looking at details of the coin to identify it by die according to known markers and characteristics.

Technically it's not a variety or a die variety. It's Machine Doubling, which is very common on late date Mercury dimes, and brings no premium value.
