Hello all,

Some of you know how I love US coin collecting and may be some have seen my completed sets. I have been trying to tell other members of my coin club about US coins. I post articles about my completed sets on our coin club website forum and have tried to get some interested in collecting US coins.

Today was our monthly meeting and this was my best day at my coin club. One new member, a 26 year old guy, came to me and said "i have heard that you collect US coins and I want to start collecting them. I want your advice about from where to start?" (till here I was really really happy then he asked the routine question)"I also would like to know what is the best way to clean coins?"

The first thing I remembered is what was the answers I got here on CCF when I asked the same question 5 years ago and I just found myself telling him the story about me asking this question and what answers I got from all of you here.

We talked about many things regarding coin collecting but with great emphasis on US coins and the guy was really interested and asked a lot of questions that showed that.

This made me very excited and I started talking about many things and I suddenly recognized that there were some other members who have gathered around us listening to our discussion and some have started asking questions.

One member whom I know is interested in note collecting have shown a lot of interest in US silver certificate note and the 2 dollar note (he called it the Lucky note ) and said that he would like to know more about these notes but unfortunately I am not into note collecting so I told him he can email me whatever questions he want to ask and I will try to get him some answers from my US friends.

This is not the best thing yet. The best thing is that before I leave the meeting, One member entered the club and he had his 10 year old son with him. Our youngest member who had joined our club a month ago. He had his collection with him and he was very interested in US coins.

Finally I have some members in my club who are starting to show interest in what I am interested in.

I just wanted to share my happiness with you because only you guys who will understand what I am feeling right now

You're lucky to be able to have someone with similar interests. Other than on CCF the only time I get to speak to other coin collectors is when I go to the shop or the bank and coin collecting teller is working. Its always great sharing your knowledge whilst also acquiring some new information in return.
