Aside from the ridiculous inventory delays, shipping delays, customs delays, shipping fees, insurance fees, and forex fees (bought through an Australian dealer), the premium on the dragon bars were not that bad :P Comparable to the regular PAMP 1oz gold bars anyways. The RCM bars can be had at pretty close to spot. I'm a big fan of both PAMP and RCM.

I like the RCM. I hope they could sell their bullion directly.

I saw that in your shop and was dreaming of the day to be able to toss some coin at one of those bad boys....
But I did get a nice Figi turtle, Britannia, and Somalia elephant round from Pobox at a great price, starting a bit of a variety collection as he has going there....
I spotted another 2011 seems like silver Maple gilt proof for 65 an free shipping, so I pounced on that as well from a reputable dealer from Florida, so that is a great first Maple piece for my collection, both side guilt, via the maple and queen E....

I did something similar just this week. I bought these three Libertys. They are VF and I bought them at a very slight premium to the gold value. These coins have minimal numismatic value. I wanted to get coins that would vary along with the price of gold and these qualify. They are virtual bullion coins. $20 gold pieces are just .9675 oz. of gold. They are 10% copper. I am counting on gold to go up.

I like those lady Liberty gold pieces, as I once had a similar version in a nice plastic case an border, and I sold it to TBK....

Very nice gold coins, Big-byte. I also like those $20 gold pieces and would love to have some of them, as well as some $10 and $5 gold pieces. Finding them in good condition and at a fair price is a real effort, though. A lot of the time, they are WAY over-priced for the quality offered. These look great, so if you got them at a reasonable price, you did really well. Congrats!

They are neat and different than the ordinary bullion coin. I have no sound reasons but I like anything form the Northern Mint. Maybe I should have been Canadian.

Northern Mint? do you mean Northwest Territorial Mint? If the latter, that's based out of Ohio I think, so you get to keep your patriotism :) Quote: You mean, aside from everything that costs extra, these didn't? When I was getting rid of some gold and silver locally to cover unexpected baby costs, the most prevalent haggling line I got was "but so-and-so online dealer sells the exact same thing for less". I would pull out my laptop, cue the dealer's website, go through checkout and get the final price after all the fees are added, show them the number and smile

poboxw, I saw the thread and thought I would click on it to see if you found some unique silver. Low and behold I clicked and was floored by the pictures of two ounces of gold staring back at me. I am truly with envy. Congrats!

RCM one is smexy! I wish I could purchase right from them. I also think it is cool cause it has "Royal" in the name! RCM should make money and coins for the world! Anyway, I bet you paid a HuGe premium on those!

@mkfarm: shucks~ here I was thinking there was a mint I didn't know about in Canada. First time I've heard the RCM referred to as the Northern Mint. Very nice ring to it. Mint of the North! (any game of thrones fans here?) @rastatodd: don't get the chance to show off gold very often. My pockets are so shallow and wallet so desolate that moths not even visit. One of the RCM gold bars I purchased was funded in part with my baby boy's gift moneys from relatives, and intended as a savings for him. If these beautiful RCM bars remain available in the years to come, I hope to keep stacking that baby-fund with it. The one pictured on the forum is one I'm selling online. It was originally purchased on the behalf of a friend that wanted to lump her orders with mine to save on fees and hassle. That fell through so I'm putting it up on ebay to see if anybody bites. @SinceWhen: The premium I paid on the RCM bars wasn't all that high actually. If you are in the market for one and can't find a dealer with reasonable prices, PM me and i'll forward you links The PAMP dragon bar is, admittedly, a purchase for potential profit. The hoops I had to jump through to get a few of them into Canada are enough of a deterrent for other North American buyers to offer a premium for them, both on and off ebay. I've so far ordered and received a total of 8, 3 delivered around the New year and all sold within 1 weeks of listing. Of the 5 that were just delivered this week, 1 was paid for before the bar hit my doors and 1 more spoken for. I was hoping i'd be able to sell enough to justify keeping one for myself. I know dragons currently spam the bullion market, but amongst the masses, this is a very nicely thought out design. It is also the first time I've seen PAMP Suisse deviate away from their standard Lady Fortuna bars in blue. - Edited to make my English Grammar less poor
