Went to my local bank and the teller said a customer dropped off a butch of clear plastic shrink wrapped nickels. The customer also said the were Uncirculated. The bank teller knows I collect coins and asked me what I thought because, they have not seen them before. (small town) I heard of them but...
I got a couple of rolls and sure enough they where all 2005 D American Bison Uncirculated.
My question. Who does this type of wrap with uncirculated rolls?
I am going through to spot any Die Dent 2005 D. Thanks

I know Brinks does shrink-wrap rolls, they're all I can get around here; I haven't heard of any other carrier using them.

Most coins are wrapped by Armored car transport companies, it gives the guys riding in the back something to do while they are getting paid anyways, this practice started several decades ago. Many companies use plastic wrap, which I see at most retail stores and fast food joints today. Nothing new just a new way for them to save money. I don't like the plastic wrapped rolls my self.

I have read that the plastic wrappers are not good for long-term storage.

I'd go back and ask for as many as possible. You never know and one of those rolls may be really old and really newish. Always worth a try.

thats all the bank I used to go to ever had, I am not sure what company they got them from but every roll they ever had was the see through clear plastic rolls. Its allot easier to check for silver in them though, you can see if there is silver in there without ever opening the roll up (this is for quarters and halves though, wouldn't quite work this way for nickels)
