1KG coins aren't really that anymore, try carrying around 30+ oz in one pocket and see how heavy it is. The 5 oz jumbo holder already presents storage problems, the super jumbo size only accelerates it, but hey if anyone can afford a 1KG AG, AU or Pt coin, they probably also have plenty of available storage space!
Once again PCGS leads by following. A five oz holder that NGC has had for close to a year an a half, a jumbo holder that NGC has had for several years (NGC has also had holder larger than that one). He showed but did not mention the edge view holder which has been in use for all submissions in Europe for about six months, and which has been phasing into all submission here in the US for the past two which NGC did over two years ago. Talking about the multi-coin holder is interesting because they have introduced it twice in the past (The first time in late 2002) and then denied ever having produced them, even when shown pictures of them. And we are currently in a time period where they say they don't make them. Now they are talking about doing them again, while NGC has pretty much phased them out.
They are going to have the labels on coins from Hong Kong have a new underprinting. So we will now know which office slabbed the coin, except they have no such underprinted label for the European office. (Although I wonder if what they meant was that coins slabbed on site at the Hong Kong convention will have the underprinting?)
He mentioned new security features. We may already know one of them. It has been reported that they have changed the plastic to make it more brittle and more likely to shatter when cracking open to prevent swapping a coin. I also noticed in the clip a new hologram that I have not seen before.
So at the moment I see at least seven new PCGS slab varieties to list. Eight, possible nine if they actually do re-reintroduce the multi-coin holder.
