Found nothing this weekend until just now I picked up this 1994 LMC, some straight lines go through memorial and statue like sunshine...Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy, sunshine in my eyes I wonder why...

Interesting. It looks like the planchet had a problem.

It also looks like Lincoln has doubled knees -- I've seen a lot of those so I think it must have something to do with the zinc....but I don't know.

I'll check back to see what the experts say.

Its called feed finger die scrapes. These are pretty common and unfortunately dont really have any value.

Good to know...thanks IC Double and biokemist6.

Buddy and wvparadox, it seems a die error instead of planchet problem.

Roller marks are on the planchets:

These are fine marks from rolling the stock material. For some reason they don't disappear during the striking process. Thus you see two different directions on the same dies run.
Feeder Finger Damage happens on the die. The ejecting process makes these appear and are on the outside fave of the die, So the fields are affected. But a die colishing will remove these.

Sometimes there is debris from the die left over on the die creating an incuse area on the coins:

But normally they start out as minor damage:

It's a hobby. I collect Photos posted on the different forums and I take some images as well. Showing them at the right time makes a subject easier to understand. Just something I do.

coop Thanks.

I think I'm going to copy your idea and start a computer photo file with these pictures.

I wander around error coin sites but I don't find them to be helpful because I just don't know enough yet.

Maybe ...? when I know more I can write a protocol for figuring out what type of error (or non-error) I'm looking at.
