It took me 20 minutes at the local Barnes and Noble just to figure out how to read the blue/red books
"
Redbook" prices for these would be
WAYYYYYY OVERPRICED !
I'd completely ignore
those listings.
(same with the
Bluebook)
These books aren't used much for "pricing"....but more so for "information". Like identification, metal composition, mintage numbers, etc. etc.
And, as a side note, these two books are printed and released SO FAR IN ADVANCE (like a couple years), that the information on "values" can be completely OFF ! (basically with Silver and Gold prices, for sure, anyway)
But you just can't go by their listings of value for the
State Quarters, including so many other coins too.
There are other sources to do that.
Numismedia guides.
Greysheets.
You'd get nearly nothing, (beyond face value), for them from a coin shop, if they'd even take them at all.
Ebay/Craigslist, I would guess to be the best hope for some profit for you.
But with fees on your end of things, and shipping/postage costs on the other end.....I dunno how it'd be worth it to the "buyer" really either.
And the overall magnitude of sheer "busyness" of constantly mailing packages, back and forth trips to the post office, packaging stuff,......it's a big hassle and headache too, IMO.
If the rewards were significant,
maybe.
If one or two buyers took everything available,
maybe.
I'd suggest what others have......
buy some albums and start filling them !
Maybe trade some of yours for some years and mintmarks that you
don't have. Then you could try to complete a P&D (Philly & Denver) collection of them.
The "
Buy/Sell/Trade" section on
this forum would be a good place to start ! ...(just make sure you read the rules first to do so)
This kind of thing is where you'll start to get into the fun of actual "coin collecting". (Which is
quite different in many ways than "coin
hoarding" ! ....

)
BUILD THOSE SETS ! .......
