Nice to hear from you and to see your counterfeit 8Rs. They are my personal favorites. How long have you been collecting Contemporary Counterfeit coins?
This is one of the nicest redated versions of the Riddell # 415 that I have seen. The variety is normally seen dated 1832 but also known in 1839. The 1836 is the most common version. There are at least 4 other closely related issues dated between 1832 and 1842. The eagle is VERY distinctive, but many very similar dies (sub varieties) were actually made.
I personally like this copy because most of the detail is captured. Most were worn more than this or were never struck up to this degree.
The coin is a scarce variety (about 70-100 known to exist).
