Sorry, need to make this quick as I'm at work and don't have the article in front of me.

A friend just showed me the Feb 5th edition of Coin World and it has an article on mint prices for annual coin sets. Surprisingly, some items actually went down in cost and the 2007 mint sets only increased by $6.00, even with the inclusion of the eight Presidential dollars.

Pricing didn't look too bad over all. Maybe someone with the article can expand on this.

So here's a rookie question. If you order three items from the mint, and they all ship at the same time, they can be put into one box at one shipping price, correct?

Now let's look at my situation. I placed an order for the Jamestown coins and an ASE proof. The proof arrived already with the Jamestown on back order. I was charged $5 in shipping for the proof. Will I be charged shipping for each and every shipment?

Has anyone done the math and figured out that it would end up being the same equivalent price regardless? i.e., three items in one box would cost ~$15 due to extra weight, etc.. So getting three different shipments with $5 each is a wash anyway?

Thanks for your thoughts. As always, I'm probably loosing my mind...

tights24,

If you place an order to the US Mint with multiple items purchased, you will only be charged $4.95 S&H. If you have three items on one order, all shipping separately, the shipping will be billed along with the first item to ship while the other two shipments will only be billed for the particular item ordered.

The change in the U S Mint is below for the Montana Quarters

This year, pricing has changed with two-roll sets now selling for $32.95, bags of 100 coins for $32.95, and bags of 1,000 coins for $309.95.

Quarter bags of 1,000 coins will have an additional charge of $7.95 per bag because of their weight and size.

I think the prices for the Uncirculated, Proof, and Silver Proof set are a little high, considering there are only 4 dollars included, which do not contain any precious metal.
