I found a 1950 50. cent the other day and when looking it up, I found that there is a design and no design variety, something to do with the 0?

Also if anyone can grade it that would be great, as I'm new to coin collecting.

The colour seems to be off in the scans, but form what I can tell maybe VF-25?

Thanks for any help.

Your grading seems about right, I would grade it vf30, the varieties are from polishing the dies to the point that the design (lines) in the 0 are only partial , and then nonexistent. The no design is the scarcer variety , yours appears to be a full design.

I would agree with your grading. But I'm no expert on the different varieties so I'll defer to those with more knowledge.

As, noted the 'no design' is the rarer one.
