NGC's decision to eliminate PCGS graded coins from World Coin Registry Sets essentially nails the coffin shut on PCGS graded world coins. NGC has, by far, the lions share of the World Coin slabbed market and this move guarantees this position.

The question now becomes: What do we do with all the PCGS
coins we have in NGC World Registry Sets; sell them, crack them out and send them to NGC for grading or cancel our sets?

As for me, I am going to sell any PCGS coin I have in a set with a value of less than $200. Those valued over $200 I plan to send to NGC for grading.

BUT the biggest change for me will be to STOP buying PCGS graded world coins unless I feel they will cross over to NGC, cost effectively.

What about you?

My Registry set will drop several levels because over half the coins are in PCGS slabs. I don't care. I am only in the registry for fun anyway and Most of my high end coins are raw.
Personally If I like the coin it matters not what some one Else's opinion of the grade is. The Registry program is to me just and advertising gimmick by the TPGS to get you to use their services.

I don't get the whole registry set craze. I personally would never want to broadcast what is in my collection, anonymous or not. It seems like a big marketing scheme to get more collectors to use the TPG's service.
Then again that is just me, while I have a lot of TPG graded coins, they will never be registered. To me it's like bragging while I understand wanting to have the best set of something, I guess I just don't see why anyone would participate in something that costs money and does nothing for your collection.

To each their own I suppose.

I've seen so many egregious grading and identification errors among NGC World coins that I'm disinclined to buy one at all.

I think its a great decision, pcgs doesn't even allow ngc coins in their registry. Ngc was nice to even allow it for a while. There are so many that drink the pcgs kool aide and knock on ngc.....pcgs has its fair share of mistakes.

It doesn't cost anything to participate in any coin registry
