Poll Question
Sorry mods, I couldnt do a poll in the Coin roll hunting section so I did it here. *** Moved by Staff to the more appropriate forum for you ***Anyway, what do you guys think? I know there is a LOT of debate and I thought this would be an interesting poll.

Based on my personal experience, I don't think so. I don't dime roll hunt as much as many on the Forum do, but when I have I have had good luck with Brinks. Of course, you have to insist that the teller give you a SEALED box, as I know of many tellers in my area that look for silver and know that the white edged coins frequently mean a silver find. When I was working nickels heavily, I found almost all of my silver nickel;s with Brinks. The Garda rolls rarely yielded them.

I don't think they are allowed to, that would be making money from customer's money...Only our GREAT banks do that...

the brinks box I got a few years ago that was more than 50% silver disproves the theory that they pull silver

No, they just use a first in first out policy, so you keep recycling the same coins.

That is why there are so many guards on their trucks. One is there to just look for rare coins.

I am looking into the poll issue. It seems to have gotten locked when I moved it and I cannot unlock it. Stay tuned.

Everyone should be able to add new polls to this forum now. I also got this one opened back up for voting.

If they had a bunch of the coins so they could see the sides (whatever machine would do this) they could quite easily pull those. Dimes are 2-3 bucks a pop, how many do you think they could find in an hour? ESPECIALLY with quarters or halves. Maybe they won't do that with ones here and there, but if they saw bunches from someone depositing a bunch of silver coins, I'm sure they would.

I can't imagine there's enough profit in this to make it worthwhile. Easier to raise their fees by a penny. Also, people find silver in Brinks boxes so...

If they pulled silver, none of us would find anything. Someone just found 296 40% in one box (half dollar thread) and 'Brinks' was labeled on the side of each roll. Any employee looking for the silver would surely not miss finds like that.
