Just checked the mail and found that the new commem is here. I wasn't sure how well I was going to like it, but I do. I got the uncirc and it really does look good. Liberty is very well sculpted and the reverse has three types of finish (in a way). Though it is yet another commem that leaves the average person wondering what is being commemorated, I like the design. Sorry about the pic. Took it with my iPhone to save some time.

It looks very nice and I like the theme ( for a change ) but I would prefer to see some verse that Francis Scott Key wrote on the reverse with ONE DOLLAR at the base, UNITED STATES of AMERICA on top and E PLURIBUS UNUM much smaller someplace else.
This would be nice.
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I'm with you TheNickelGuy. Wasn't sure if you had seen the gold version of this commem. It has what you're talking about...

No I didn't see the gold one but then in a set, I could see the dollar making a little more sense looking like it does since they went and used my idea.

My gold SSB Unc Half-Eagle arrived today. Thoughts folks might like to see an actual image to go along with the artist's rendering already posted.

Enjoy!

I wish they would have put the silver dollar obverse with the half eagle reverse. That would've looked very nice. Thanks for adding those pics commems.

Ridge_Runner: You're very welcome!

I agree with your comment re: the dollar's obverse and the half eagle's reverse -- it would have made for a great looking coin!

Never been a big fan of commems other than the '09 Lincoln Silver Dollar, but I'm digging these SSB silver dollars, especially after seeing pictures of real coins. I will be buying some during intro price period, just a matter of how many.
