ebay has rools against wording like "xxxx-like" or "not-xxxx", because they mess with search.

I don't see any sign of the Blakesley effect, and with that much of the coin missing, I'd think it would be very obvious.

I'm a bit inclined to think possibly man made, but would need to see the coin to be sure.

Real fivepence, PMD clip. Even if it was a mint error, $9 shipping would be a deal killer.

Here a nice 2 cent bottle cap or similar error, the seller also has an odd 1 cent that is questionable too.

I sent a message to this seller explaining how her 'error' coin was manufactured. Whether or not it achieves anything will depend on the sellers level of honesty.

Hi dibby33.
I think the listing is still there

I just clicked on the original link on the second page of this post, from appleangel07. The "bottletop 2cent coin" is still on ebay.
Nancyc's correspondence is there, with the sellers response.

It seems that the link is not copied correctly in the cut-and-paste operation in the more recent post by nancyc.
I have also experienced this problem in a previous posting on this forum.

Long URLs are shortened by ccf software, so you need to copy link, not just copy.

The OP need to learn to remove all the spyware from ebay lynx. For example:

http: //www.ebay.com/itm/1958-AUSTRALIAN-SIX-PENCE-DOUBLE-CLIPPED-ERROR-/330717432383?pt=AU_Coins2&hash=item4d004b8a3f

only needs to be:

This ended with no takers:
1958 AUSTRALIAN SIX PENCE DOUBLE CLIPPED ERROR

deano, I don't know about him being a nutter, just a money hungry unprincipled creep!

Unfortunately, ebay Australia is infested with them.

I'm not going to waste my time sending this seller another message, she's just re-selling a piece of rubbish she probably bought for $1 and hoping to make a quick kill. Same seller as the 1966 2c stubbie top job as pointed out earlier by applea.

Although I agree with you Nancy, those $2 mule-like coins are rubbish, I will say that I have purchased a few later date shillings off seller and never had any issues. Perhaps avoid sellers decimal listings would be the advice.
