I guess I was lucky! It was my first 1869 Two Cent won off ebay last week!
The die break was clear in the ebay item photo, I guess others just missed seeing it, because there were only a few bidders.
The seller must have missed it too.. Item did not state anything about 1869/8 w/ die crack.

Of course and I even have alerts set up to notify me on a bunch of ebay item. I'd have been all over this auction! You did great - congrats with a twinge of jealousy thrown in!

Westcoin, you did good too!
You Got 5 coins for that price and one was the Rare one...
Except the seller did state: ' No corrosion or damage just normal wear. '
Were you a little upset when there was some corrosion?
Did you say anything to seller about having corrosion or that he sold you a 1869/8 'Rare Coin'
Mine did not state about pit on obv, but you could see it in photo.
Have you seen any 2 cent coin collection folders that have hole for this 1869/8 & 1867 DDO?
I got a Dansco book for 2c & 3CN one page for each, but only hole for the special 1864 small motto.
Hey, how about some pics of your 1867 DDOs?
That's my next hunt is a 1867 DDO

I'll get some photos up soon, and start a new thread for the 1867 DDO coins. I have picked about 10 or so of these, the lower grades are easy to find (well easy enough) they aren't that rare under EF condition. I picked a nice EF/AU at a show on a Sunday last year and traded for a MS64BN in an NGC holder years ago, sold that one for a nice profit!

I don't know about the album status of holes, never had one. I have so many I just use a 2x2 box right now, eventually I'll put them into a 3 ring binder to more easily see them all at once, since I collect by die variety there is no real album that would suit me. I have only a couple of major ones to find still the 1864sm DDO, 1865 DDO, 1871 DDO, 1872 DDO, and a couple of RPD's to go. I've had several complete sets but sold my proofs off in the late 1990's (stupid, stupid, stupid) My next full set I'm working towards is a complete MS66RB average grade in mint state and PR65RB in Proofs. I'll never get the varieties in MS66 though. I think my highest graded variety is about MS63BN. Mostly I find RPDs in lower grades as common non mentioned RPDs at shows or on ebay, Teletrade, auctions, etc. I currently have no Proofs - hopefully that will change as my income gets better this year. They are getting expensive now days in high grade.

Good luck on the 1867 DDO, it shouldn't take too long before you score one, easy if you buy it listed on ebay I got one for $32.00 last month on ebay (from TECC) the guy you linked the $810.00 1868 Recut auction. I'll buy 1867 DDOs all day long, if the price is right always (just because they are so cool).

Got more details/pics on the 1869 w/ RPD 18 without Die crack, like the one going for $810 ?
Price seems to be much lower than 1869/8 in Good
