Western Union Just funning you. The best way I have found is put the note/notes in separate Mylar holders then sandwich them between some good hard cardboard and mail them in the hard cardboard mailers.

The best way is to place the curreny into a plastic sleeve. Then Put that between 2 pieces of rigid cardboard. Stuff it in a rigid mailer and send it.

Thanks guys. I was thinking something like that. Should it be in a box or a bubble mailer?

I went the el-cheapo way. I cut plastic pieces from the sides of a very well cleaned and dried two liter bottle (that only held carbonated water). The currency was put into plastic wrap, sandwiched between the bottle plastic, and then cardboard. It would take a lot to be able to put a crease in the currency.

I use a card stock PhotoMailer, with the aforementioned platic sleeve.
I would not use the bubble mailers for Currency, it's just asking to be folded/misshapen.

I put the note in a mylar sleeve and then put that into a regular envelope with two thick pieces of cardboard on either side. I also tape the envelope shut, just to make sure it doesn't open.

Quote: Should it be in a box or a bubble mailer? I would say box definitely. I've seen too many torn or "accordianed" bubble mailers. Use and over sized box, possibly a box within a box with padding between them. That way if the outer box gets damaged the padding and inner box still protect the notes.

I have sent and received many banknotes in the mail, and have never had one arrive in a box.

My notes from Australia came in a box, but they didn't have hard plastic sleeves either.
I usually get mine in the stiff cardboard express mail envelopes, with a piece of heavy cardboard on either side of the notes. And then some tape to keep the cardboard together, so the notes don't slide out. And the notes are either in the wax paper envelopes or the stiff plastic holders. I've never had one damaged that way.
