Well this was my first try at hunting coin rolls. So far I am happy. Due to the fact that I am poor I decided to start with a box of pennies and that lead to a second box. I decided to keep all 1982 and older.
I have to admit that I don't know all of the ins and outs of the sport yet but this is my score at the end of the round. $10 face copper plus the following Wheat.
2 1919 s 1 1929 1 1936 1 1939 s 1 1940 s 1 1941 1 1944 d 1 1945 1 1946 1 1947 2 1950 d 1 1950 2 1951 1 1952 d 1 1953 2 1953 s 2 1955 3 1956 d 2 1958 d 1 1958

28 wheats + $10 in copper inside 2 boxes is a fantastic start! to CCF Quote: So far I am happy. Never forget to also add in the "happiness" quotient.

Great start buzzsawddog!
I average about 6 wheats per $25 in cents, so what you got was fantastic!

In my last $100 of pennies I only found 20 wheats but did get my first Indian Head - 1888. I too found a 1919 S. 7 of the wheats were 1956D 1957D and 1958D. The biggest surprise was the fact all 8 of the 2009 were there.

Well I am nearing the end of the 3rd box of pennies and my wife said that she has just been throwing all the pre 82 into same container. I wonder how many Wheats might be missed from the first $10 worth :-s Not sure that I want to open everything and check... So far this one is not quite as good as the first two but we will see whats left in the last $5 worth :-)

Box three done!
$4.5 face on copper pennies and: one dime (nothing special just an extra .09 :-)
5x canada
1x 1940 1x 1972 1x 1953d 1x 1920 1x 1940s 1x 1956d 1x 1944
More success to come :-)
Good news I am filling in my two penny books and the copper return is okay for me.

Well the copper count for the last few boxes is about the same. The Wheat penny count is staying about the same. Some times higher and sometimes lower. But my most disappoint find was an entire box of 2012 from Bank of America (last time I go there for boxes).

Oh and my book is filling in quite nicely, the local coin shop buys my duplicate wheats for a decent price. (condition does not matter)

Buzzsawddog, I have to ask, how much is the 'decent price' your local coin dealer is paying for wheat cents? Also, are you selling your copper to the dealer, somewhere else, or keeping it?
Congrats by the way...looks like you're off to a good start

Well I am just holding the copper for now. I will see if I can find someone after I get to $25 in face copper.
