I'm hoping the next '40 days' goes by very quickly. Or put another way, I'm already getting tired of seeing the '40 days of large cents' at the top of the page. Don't get me wrong, I like large cents and I like picture threads, but 40 days of it is just too much. And what's around the corner?.... '40 days' of five cents, then 40 days of dimes. I can hardly wait  |

I believe there are more nickels than large cents. But I dont see the problem? Dont look at the thread then?

The thread might actually ignite more interest in this forum. The hobby needs some revitalization and more traffic can't hurt. Plus, you do get to see some beauties! Of a more esoteric kind.

You have your rights to give opinion, but I find the Large Cents thread simply amazing with those lovely old beauties. I think the next one I'm gonna do is dollars, then dimes, then halves.............I can hardly wait  |

I respect your opinion doubleeagle59, but I have to agree with tamarin and Apollo on this....plus, I love Vicky in any denomination. That thread has acutally got me more into my 1 cents again than I have been in a while (got preoccupied with my halves!)

 I actually love this thread because it gives Members a chance to compare specific pieces on specific dates. And if you don't want to view them or get involved in this thread, simply don't open it! DUH Glenn  |

It's good to speak your mind.I respect that. I have never even noticed that topic, honestly. I guess I see what I want to look at or catches my fancy and the rest I just ignore. Moe did say I could do the Days of Jefferson nickels, but that could be a long time off.I am not near ready to do it. It will take me a long time to produce the pictures although I have to do it sometime. What irks  me is topics like Whoa!
What do you think of this?

It was fun for the 1858 coins, heck I even participated. But, then it was like eating too much Halloween candy... I stopped looking after page three today...
I think I'll just lurk in the varieties section... for the next 39 days...

Personally I dont care what any member posts provided I can learn something from it. Hmmm! Just wondering how some of the "40 Days of" people would feel if I ran a post called the 40 or 50 Days of Modern day coins..... I bet I would be getting a whole bunch of negative feedback on it! Nothing wrong with doubleeagle59 or any other member voicing opinions!  Edited by darryldarryl

I love this thread! I just picked up a few dozen large cents in an estate buy and the timing for this thread topic is perfect!
I've just seen some fantastic examples including errors that I have a passion for. Forty days is going to fly by!
