To bad about that, cross them off the list. One thing you can do is add an account to another big name bank with lots of locations, even if they dont the coin counter. As of the moment I reroll EVERYTHING, then you can reroll every other week, and thin down your visits to the counter. they will give you free rollers also. Also network with a buddy with a different bank then yours.
Im going the opposite direction as you, add ing another bank with a counter, to save myself some rolling time. You did the right thing, be cordial and walk out, thats all you can do.

So far all the branches I've been to (both pick-up and dump) have been awesome. They always ask me if I've found anything cool and promise to let me know if they receive anything out of the ordinary. And I've been honest with them. I've re-kindled an old hobby and I'm doing it with my son. It gives us something fun to do that doesn't involve computers, video games or television. At one branch, I'm dad of the year apparently with a couple of the tellers :)

Hold on now. Does anyone else find it absolutely ridiculous that anyone needs to feel they have to LIE to take advantage of a service that you pay for? I dont give two rats rear ends if the lazy pieces of bunk in the bank dont like it. Its a service they provide and I pay for, PROVIDE THE SERVICE AND SHUT UP.
Being a retail manager, it always boggles my mind when someone at a bank does that. I would certainly file aa complaint about that branch. If nothing else the customer service was lousy.
We use TD for dumping. The branshed we use are great. I did drop using the branch closest to my job though. They will still take the coins, but they say due to the volume, they will put them in a bag, seal it and send it to be counted and then credit my account. Obviously I told them what I thought of that and have never been in there again. At the other branches they know us. They see us come in and just grab the keys to the machine and come over to change the bags. We talk about coins or sports or what have you and it is a pleasent experience. THATS what I pay for. And I dont lie to get it.

This guy is mad that you're dumping coins in his machine? Too darn bad because you have every right to dump your coins whereever you want to. It's just a bunch of jerk employees in my view.

Quote: I would be very careful using that. Most banks will immediately require you to get a business account which has a fee. I have already heard of a bank teller not allowing a vending person to use the free coin counter because that bank requires vending businesses to bring the coin in and for a fee will convert it to cash. I only say coin collecting and have never had any issues. I will never say it's business related. That's exactly why I don't lie. I'm glad it was the branch farthest from me though because I never go there. but yeah I am agreeing with some of you that think it is ridiculous. I wonder if he singles out everyone with a large amount of coins? I will move on cause I have 2 other awesome dump banks though :)

You think that is bad? I had a bank that sent an email to all their branches in the state telling them not to let me put coins through the counter or sell me any coins!

I cash in one box a week at 2 different branches, and 1 box a month at 4 other branches. They all know what I do and don't seem to mind. I roll them all and see the tellers - and I'd never cash in more than 1 box at a time. I bet they'd get an attitude if I did that. I suggest you GO BACK to that bank with just one box and say it is from your vending machines. If you have an account there, they really can't say jack to you.

It's the monster hunters dumping $50k a week that will kill it for everyone. I have nothing against that kind of volume, heck I admire it! Halves take their toll on machines meaning down time for others that'd like to use it. Not to mention expensive repair costs. And tellers changing lots of bags on the machine is not normal procedure, until recently. The bags cost $. The bank can or cannot justify or accommodate roll hunters.

Penny Man, I am right there with you!
The Bank of America's in my area won't sell me any coins at all, they got an email about me, and when I first walked in asking, they made me show ID, then they refused me.
Maybe they just don't lke selling to young people!

Ok, there just has to be more to these BOA stories. I am an account holder and have used them for nothing but ordering. Never had a problem except for them "forgetting" every now and then. My largest single order has been a dozen boxes-o-dime.

Wear and tear on the machine? He couldn't have possibly "known" it was you. I would call him on it for sure. You did the right thing by withdrawing all your money. Next time just ignore him. Say you were cleaning the house; they can't be mad at you for cleaning. Next time that happens call for the account manager and close your account right there.

already been told not to come back at a few places , yet some people are so nice they dont care, gives them something to do to break up the monotony of the day it all comes to the personnel in general

In Australia a lot of our coin is not rolled but comes in little resealable plastic bags. These are recyclable and don't waste paper, plus they are very quick to refill. When returning them to the bank they get weighed and that's it. Whilst rolls do exist here I much prefer the bags due to their ease of use and environmental friendliness.
