Hello, I am going to be buying this coin in the next couple of days. This coin looks pretty good for being an 1834. Shes a beauty. Just wondering what the grade is. I have a fair idea, but just wanted to hear some other opinions

Beautiful 'circulated cameo' example.

I'm going with F15 ... could sneak in at VF20 perhaps ... the wear on Ms. Liberty hair and the Eagle feathers are right on the edge IMHO between either grade.

Is that a rim hit below the '34' in the date? ... if so ... seals the deal for me at F15.

Very nice looking example.

There are four varities with the 1834 date but the values are all pretty similar in that condition. The latest Coin Prices magazine I am looking at says about $75-77 for F-12 and about $85-87 for VF-20. I love this series!

Overton defines 21 die marriages for this year. I think this one is O-111, called the "Child's Head," based upon the location of the I relative to the T in STATES, the left tilt of that T, and the lean of the numbers in the date. F15, hampered a bit by the rim ding, but nicely bought at $59.

I gotta agree with Superdave o-111 Obv. 10, Rev. K. R1. The top of the C so close to the stem, as well as diagnostics mentioned confirm it to me. I would buy that one every time for $59!

It will be hard to say definitively until you have it in hand.
