It might just be the picture or the scanned image but does the color look right? Otherwise strong detail on the obverse ... could be a VF20 although the rim hit hurts it a little bit but not sure if it bumps it down to F15.

what does the colour mean? Like is it something bad? I know what toning is, and I like the toning on this coin.

Just a little dark, might have had a light cleaning many years ago and retoned to the almost blackish color. I have a few lower grade Seated Liberty halves that I bought when I was starting out that have similar toning, I was told that they were likely cleaned and retoned. I'm most likely wrong don't worry about it.

Thanks joe. it might have been lighly cleaned and re toned. Not sure. Dont see hair lines, but it is pretty worn

Even if it is retoned I still think you got a deal at what you paid. Most Capped Bust Halves have old cleaning, have been dipped, or have other problems.
