Beautiful coins, one of my favorite designs. I will assume you are still in the hunt for the '09-O and the elusive '29. That would be an achievement, My hat's off to you

Thanks for the comments! THe 1915-s underwent an acetone bath, as it originally looked like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/16074096754....m1497.l2649I wouldnt call it cleaned though. The 1914 and 1916-s were both top TPG certified as problem free, and I agree. Yes, I am missing the 1909-O and 1929 unfortunately....some major toughies. I do have the 11-d, and the only others I'm missing are the 08-d and 08-s.

with D0ubl3Eagle. There are wear patches on the high points of all three coins. Very hard to avoid wear, nicks and scratches in soft gold coins of this design. Nice coins to have in any collection, anyway.

Quote: melt price coins IMHO Please let me know where you can get these at melt! Moe and Double Eagle nailed the grades for the 1914 and 1916-s. . I agree with Moe on the 15-s that it is around XF/AU. thanks for all the comments.

Quote: Whats going on with the S on the 1916? Mintmarks on the Indian half eagles are often very weak, possibly for reasons relating to the incuse design. Even in cases when the mintmark was well struck the fact that it is raised on the coin means it wears down quickly if the coin is circulated. It is very common to see San Francisco and Denver coins with the mintmark showing as just a vague blob. TPGs recognize this fact when it comes to the key date 1911-D quarter eagle. Many of these are certified as "Weak D" and are less desirable (and less expensive) than examples with sharp D mintmarks.
