At our household, April is like Christmas. Grandpa (my step dad) starts the month off with his birthday on 4/6. Now comes the tough five days. Wife's birthday on 4/14, ouryoungest daughter on 4/17, and our anniversary on 4/18. Of course this is also this time of the month is the end of tax season, why is the venue my wife is employed in.
My wife does not collect coins, but I share all that follow me home. She has noticed when funds went out, but especially when funds were coming back in during the silver roller coaster over the past few years.
So, tonight, I gave her a combo birthday and 25th anniversary card with a somewhat circular object in the gift bag. After reading the card and my kind words, she discovered that my description of her, touched on eight different "hats" that she wears.
Her gift is an 1869 California Gold dollar. 1869 happens to be 100 years prior to her birth. California happens to be the state she was born in. The octagon shape of the coin represents the eight hats that she regularly wears in our lives.
