As part of my Christmas bonus at work, no wait ALL of my Christmas bonus we were given a little booklet that had a bunch of choices for your own present. They are nothing exciting, basically $20 type of things.

I had forgotten all about the booklet until today, and looking through it didn't see anything that I really needed. I did see a treasure chest of old US coins, (it says it can have wartime nickels, Buffalo nickels, wheat pennies, and silver dimes). I'm sure it will be mostly common date wheaties, but it should be interesting to see what I get!! I'll post the dates and types of coins when it arrives.

The little "treasure chest" of coins arrived. Here is what I received....

The prize of the bunch was a 1943-s steel penny in roughly AU-55.

Other coins were all average circulated

Wheaties
1941, 1942, 1942-D, 1944, 1944-D(2), 1945-D(2), 1946-D, 1949, 1951-D, 1952, 1952-D, 1955(2), 1955-D(2), 1956-D, 1957-D(5), 1958-D(2).

Wartime Jeffersons
1943-P, 1945-P

Buffalo nickel
1936-D

Mercury dime
1941

The only dates that I didn't already have were the 2 wartime Jeffs. I'll admit that it was kind of exciting to get the "mystery" coins in the mail even though I knew that they wouldn't be valuable.

That's the one, about a 4" by 3" little chest. Since it was free, I can't complain about the price. If we do the Christmas book next year I'll probably pick something else though.

The cool thing is I gave the chest to my daughter, and she loves it . she pretends it is a treasure chest. I sometimes hide it with some money in it , and have her try to find it, I make alittle game out of it. that makes it very valuable .
