I was always quite fond of this one, although I had a terrible time getting a decent pic of it. As an aside, RCM made two versions of the coin, one classified as a privy and the other a proof. Anyone know which one this is and why?

You have the privy mark version with the maple leaves (the more expensive one, lower mintage), here is the non privy one(all my budget would allow),a really nice coin, I don't buy a lot of NCLT but I had to get this.

Yes, I think the bronze has very nice eye appeal and that was what I was originally going to buy, but the silver bug in me won out.

I know this Battle of Britain set didn't do particularly well but I like it. Sorry couldn't get a pic of mine so these are stock photos

A favorite of mine is the 2010 Poppy Silver Dollar. The coin was issued following the death of the last known Canadian WWI veteran and is meant to honor all war veterans for the sacrifices they made while serving their country.

The 2006 $30 Sterling commemorating Canada's National War Memorial is also one of my favorites. And if this qualifies... 2006 $10 Fine Silver Fortress of Louisbourg.

CC,
That's one of the best coin photography jobs I've ever seen posted. I wish I could do half as well. I always liked the $30 piece. It actually made me think of another one with a similar theme: the Canada 2006 $30 Beaumont Hamel Newfoundland Memorial proof. I wanted to post it but it's buried deep in my safe, in a box covered with strapping tape, so maybe someone else will put it on.

@commems: That poppy silver dollar is amazing, real attention getter. Seems pretty expensive on ebay though, which is a shame cause I'd love to own one. All these coins are great though.

Quote: What was the release price of the 2010 Poppy Silver dollar? interesting question.... Do not know the answer, but guessing, it $60-$70. Probably, was not easy to get this at the release, due to limited mintage and excellent design together with important theme. So....Imo, when the all Superman (i mean coins), Poseidons, Glass Whatever etc will be forgotten, people will still remember coins like posted in this thread.
