It looks like the "GOD" especially the "G" is doubled. Sorry for the images being just about too low resolution to show it. I rotated the coin to help, hence the overdose of shots. As I understand, a real DDO won't make the element skinnier but will actually fatten it up.

From what I can see it is normal. However...close ups would help confirming what you have either way. Have you tried to match it up with any known Doubled Dies on coppercoins.com? You can narrow the 82's down by zink/copper and large date/small date so their really aren't alot it dies it could be.

Happy Hunting

The G is the same size as a normal coin. Here is an image of a normal coin with a DDO for the same year.

My camera is getting a hernia trying to get a good closeup.
I'm using a 4 megapixal on macro and it's straining. I'll try to get a better picture.

Jayman931: Do you have a link to the DDO reference on coppercoins? I only see forum listings.

Here is (i think the only Large Date 1982D DDO) that is known.

I really think looking at the "R" in Trust on your coin that it is a normal cent.

Jayman931: Thanks so much for the link. Holy cow that DDO from your link is so subtle!

I noticed that the description at the top of that page says it's a large date zinc. But it clearly looks copper to me.

That is definitely a Zincoln in the Coppercoins link, take notice of the bubbly surface caused by poor plating.

Yes, I see that it's zinc now. My coin that I posted is copper so I don't thinkg it would be possible for it to have the same DDO as the zinc sample.

looking at the "IN" in your photos I see MD which is not "true" doubling but damage caused by die movement.

Coppercoins.com is a great tool for error/variety enthusiasts.
