An uncirculated 1985 has a book price of $13 compared to a 1993 of $22. Presumably this is because there are roughly twice as many 1985 mint sets compared to 1993.

Circulating 1985 50c are much harder to find. In another thread it was explained that it might be due to the 1985 50c for many years being the only COA with the Maklouf obverse and it was noodled out of circulation.

Its interesting to note that until 1994 all the Maklouf obverses were low mintage and are now very difficult to find in circulation.

Although recently I've found several the 1985 50c is one hard little bugger to find! Much harder than 1993.

I have been checking my change and bankrolls here in Melbourne for 9 months now. I have found two 1985 and four 1993 50 cent pieces during that time.
Certainly not common !
