Hey there, canadian here eh! Found a 1945 Wheat penny up here and it is extremely beat up and the wheat side is completely rubbed out and can barely make out the design. My only thing is the coin looks to be made of zinc or something because it is a silver color and not brown. Were there some 1945 wheats that were made of zinc like the 1943? I will try to post a picture later on but it looks weird becuase I also found a regular one and different color completely.

Not that I'm aware of. With that much damage on the coin, probably it was painted/plated/mercury coated/something else done to it. I would like to see images of it if you can take any.

A photo of both sides would be interesting to see.

Can you get some pics of just the coin in question? a little closer but full obverse and reverse? as it sits now it looks cleaned on the obverse, and some kind of damage on the reverse.

What's the point? The coin is badly damaged, which is a really good indicator that the color of the coin has something to do with the severe damage. I'd toss it in the bank pile and move on.
