I only really saved this because it was odd and has a brilliant,(to me anyways) tone1 some feedback on the size.... I know about the lining up of the bottom of the 1,,, but I really need another opinion,,, I see a Large date, my "know-it-all" hubby says otherwise.(he's usually correct} The only Penny he knows is me...LOL we are not all the same.... Fingers are crossed I'm not incorrect.... here is my 1970s!

need a close-up of the date a little lighter, but just copying the image you show, I am thinking its a large date

I looked in this thread to compare
1970 s small or large date?

One thing I have learned here was if the 7 is below the 0 it is a large date. I say large date.

I took your picture, tried to straighten it, and crop it some.
In my opinion, the white lines look like the 7 is below the 0 (rather than even), and the end of the 9 points toward the bottom of the 7 (rather than toward the center).

Thanks everyone for the I.D. on my coin. I can't believe I was right...I am so blind and sometimes (cause I work at night...), I see double... Imagine all the double dies I see!!
