One of the main reasons I picked-up this coin was the decent strike visible on the left 'ear of corn' on the reverse. Your thoughts on grading please. Thank you!

I would guess high AU, maybe touching into the MS range

There doesn't appear to be much if any wear. The fields on the obverse and reverse appear to have friction which might be enough to call it an AU-58. It could be MS and probably no more than a 62. Tough call!

Do you think it might have been cleaned in any manner? I hope not...

AU55 is my estimate.
Appears to be slight wear on the wreath and hairline.
Looks uncleaned or messed with.

My humble opinion ... AU58 .. well struck ... honest original surfaces with full luster.

The high point of the design is the obverse hair detail below "LIB" in the crown ... I see some potential rub there ... hence my AU58 call.

You have the coin in hand ... and can tell us if the luster is in fact broken there.

I think it is either an AU-58 or an MS-63. It all depends on whether that's wear behind the ear or not.

High AU to low MS is perfect for my needs. This coin is going into my Dansco 7070 Type Set. I just wanted to get some opinions on grade and most importantly, to make sure the coin had not been cleaned.

As for the luster in the hair, right under the 'LIBERTY' I do think there is a small break in the luster... the rest looks pretty good to me, though I think I overpaid by a dollar or two... oh well.

Thanks for the confirmation everyone!
