About a week or so ago, I posted a 1912-S LWC for grading. Couple of people chimed in, Thad mentioned the verdigris. I had thought to try Verdi-Care prior, but just had forgotten to order some. Once he mentioned it, I immediately placed an order. What do they say? Proof is in the pudding? Well take a look at this! Honestly, I without hesitation, recommend Verdi-Care to each and every one of you! Oh and as for Thad, he's not such a bad guy either LOL BEFORE AFTER

That coin was a perfect candidate for Verdi-Care. Thad's product is good stuff!

Has this coin now been "cleaned?" In other words, will serious collectors consider this coin damaged?
Not trying to stir up the hordes; I'm genuinely curious.

Lobby, take a look at : http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/fil...Care-FAQ.pdfIt honestly in a true unbiased review and in my opinion is not cleaning at all. In fact on the LWC, I saw no removal of any toning or signs of age. Simply just a removal of verdigris and a more hydrated conditioned appearance. I don't consider it cleaning, and if it is, which I don't believe it to be... Purist Or not, I'd prefer all my LWC to look like this.

Did you have to pick at the verdigris to get it to come off ? It didn't work very well for my Indians but the Lincoln's are a little different. I might have to try it again on some of them.

Did you buff it up afterwards or something? It's hard to say if it had that glossy appearance beforehand because the before pictures are a scan. I'm not sure there's been an improvement here, and I say that as somebody who's had positive experiences with Verdi-care in the past.

Raymo,
I experimented on about a dozen different degrees of verdigris on worthless pennies before, I chose not to pick at this one with a toothpick, and had I had to, I don't think I would have attempted at all.
Eg,
I think you are seeing lighting, when I was taking the picture, I noticed that too. I just snapped these photos on a black sheet right under an LED pendant light in my kitchen LOL.
Captain,
I didn't buff at all, what I did was soak it, then I took an air can and blew the dust off a piece of soft acid free tissue paper as I didn't want and debris sticking to the coin. I then placed it on the tissue paper as to allow it to blot if you will for a minute or so, I then gently flipped it and allowed it to dry.
I see what you all say by glossy. It is honestly the photo. While, yes, it is glossy, its not a polyurethane look. If I had to describe it, I would say it looks refreshed, or just "hydrated".
I also noticed, that it takes some time for it to fully dry, and just like a wall lets say, it always looks "wet" before its fully dry.
Having said that, I really do like very much, the way the coin looks and turned out. Definite recommendation.

Not taking before and after pics with the same photo set up kinda messed things up. Do another one if you can. I know you have a bajillion pennies JoeTurbo.
