FYI - Cents from Philadelphia don't have a mint mark. So those are just common cents.

If you have any dupes from before 1982 save those and don't cash them in. Those are copper and should be hoarded in mass quantities (if you want to call yourself a roll hunting/coin collector).

Congrats on starting a great collection! Lincoln cents are almost every collector's first choice.

If you want a short hand, you can write something like 2007 P&D, 2008 P&D, etc. It'll save a lot of typing or copying and pasting.

Get some rolls at banks and you'll probably find some wheat cents and the rest of your missing LMCs.

MattD2014 .......

Matt... I think Fuzzy was just trying to say that "this" would have been much easier for you to "write out" with your list.

you wrote:
1972 d penny
1972 no mint mark penny

easier more clear way:
1972 D Cent
1972 P Cent

Since " no mint mark penny" is just a Philly mint, there's no need to say --- " no mint mark penny". Everyone knows that a Cent without a mintmark is a Philly Cent.

But anyway......congrats and good luck on putting these together ! ...

Are you putting them into a Dansco album ?
How are you housing them ?

As mentioned, if you get a bunch of rolls from your bank, you'll find A LOT of Wheat Cents..... and/or at least more of the '59 to 2008 LMC collection.
And in doing this.....and by finding more "pre- 1959 Wheats".... you'll then be beginning the 1909-1958 Wheat cent collection too ! .........
