Well I see this will be issued May 21st.

What I started doing a few years back is getting about six of these sets every year as I get all the coins issued for my albums.

I figure since no more president dollars are issued now and the National Park quarters are hard to get I will probably increase the number of these I get per year.

Any thoughts?

IMO - Buying mint sets for a investment is not a good idea.

Most mint sets end up selling for less than their issue price.
The odds are, that will be the same in the future.

I do not feel Presidental dollars have a large enough collector base
to drive the price of the mint sets up.

Many collectors, like myself, purchase the mint sets to fill their albums
so most will already have their coins that way.

Many collectors, dealers and Eaby sellers also buy the mint roll sets of parks quarters and Presidential dollars... I feel these coins will be available in good numbers.

Of course if you are talking on long long term investment .. then maybe .. if you are up for a 25 to 50 year wait. Or you are bulding stock, for having a possible coin shop.

I agree with GR58. Don't buy extra sets that you do now for investment. They will probably not go up. Buy what you collect.

I used to buy rolls of the quarters and dollar coins. I stopped doing that in 2010 because even though they are making less, a high percentage of the coins made will not circulate and will always be available in high grades. I wouldn't be surprised if the new quarters and dollars are just as available in future years in uncirculated as the older State Quarters and Presidential dollars. And no more valuable.

Uncirculated sets for investment is not a good idea. I have made that mistake in the past and was never able to sell them for a profit. They always sell on the secondary market for less than the issue price if they sell at all.

Personally, I go for a least one silver set every year.
I just like them, And of course all the ASE's.

The silver sets have an intrinsic metal value attached to them and sometimes are worth purchasing. I bought a bunch of the silver quarters sets when they were selling very near spot. The present silver quarters set sells at a 50% premium and the silver 2012 proof set at 60%.

They both have their downside risk limited to the silver they contain while the regular (not silver) proof set has no downside protection.

Well thanks I will stick to just two sets for my albums then. I always also buy two silver proof sets and full proof sets each year have been since 1999.

I got tired of trying to get the coins for my albums though with rolls figure just getting two uncirculated sets gives me everything need for the albums.

But would add that, really, getting ANYTHING from the U.S. Mint with "investment" as the primary reason in one's mind, is a bad idea.
Even Proof or Burnished ASE's.....

I only buy proof and uncirculated sets for my personal collection, but I thought I read something about one or more circulation coins missing from the 2012 sets (similar to the 1999 SBAs). If true, what am I missing?
