I downloaded the catalogue 7.5MB
http://www.iagauctions.com/auctions.php
Hoped there would be pictures of every item but there wasn't, only the more classy or expensive coins have photos.

They are based in Qld

If someone would be nice enough to put a cheap bid on coins for me would be very happy, don't know how much postage is they estimate $5 or at cost.
Had a quick look at the end pages and I saw that there is 16.5% added to the final bid price, and 3% charge if you pay by credit card. Bank id ANZ

If anyone has signed up can you let me know if you would be happy to a bid on for me (PM me and ill tell you the price I would like to pay)

I think this auction is online only. There's no auction floor.

I never attend an auction before. Is there other costs besides the commission, CC charge if you pay by Credit Card and postage? Do we need to pay GST on top of it?

Dennt5, Most of the auctions I have been to for coins have had what is called a "Buyers Premium" usually in the order of 16 to 20% of the bid.
This amount while it sounds large does include the GST so that brings the commission for the Auctioneer back to about 6% or so.
Credit card fees are then sometimes added to this as well unless you pay cash/eftpos.

Strange is that coins is the only auction I've been part of where the commission is paid by the buyer and not the seller.

The sellers also have to pay a sellers premium as well 10 or 12 % I think ?,double dipping but thats how they make their money, but all that is disclose to sellers & buyers before the auction so there is nothing hidden.

The Goatieman is in the forum!!

There are a few lot's I'm looking at.

278: Curious (Penny. 1925. Key date. 7/8th Pearls partly visible.) only looking out of curiosity considering starting is $649 & I have a couple on par with that condition.

304: Curious (Shilling. 1921 Star. Key date. Most of centre diamond.) as I have one in better condition.

407: Interested (George VI. N/D. Full Obverse brockage, and a nice example. Rare. gVF) but I don't have enough money at the moment.

409: Would love (George V. N/D. Full Obverse brockage. London Die. Very rare for such a clear and early date example. gVF/aEF) but I won't have that sort of money for a while.

466: Est-$80-$100...Bag of assorted pre decimal silver. Includes Threepence (134 pre, 54 post), Sixpence (17 pre, 40 post), Shilling (4 pre, 24 post), Florins (53 post). (326 coins total). POOR-gVF. Because of the stupid estimate price. I think they forgot to add a ZERO on the end of it. Silver value alone is in excess of $650. If I had enough money I'd be bidding in at around $500, but I'd prefer to spend my money elsewhere.

I HAVE BID ON:
344: Five Dollar. 1998 polymer. Radar serial numbers CD/E/F/G 98 888 889. Rarer radar type as it includes first two numbers of serial. (4 notes total). UNC

351: Fifty Dollar. 1993. Radar serial numbers WYF/WYG/WYN 988889. UNC

If anyone's interested in a 1998 $5 with the serial 98888889 or one of the paper 1993 $50's with 988889 then message me, because I'm only interested in one of each to add to my Polymer $50 98888888 & 98888889...will look pretty funky.

Why have I pussed out of so many awesome looking items? Because I have a baby that's two weeks old today:
