Hi Everyone,

This 1945 penny has a very light B shape where the L in Liberty should be there is only one line then a blurb shaped like a B.

Hard for me to tell from the picture but the rim seems to be smaller on that side of the coin than the other. Could be an off center strike.
Or it could be just damaged on that side, there are some reather big gouges just below the liberty.

Thanks I am waiting on delivery of my microscope camera adjustment but the does not appear to ever been a horizontal line in the L. It is not scratched or gouged it almost looks melted

The L is PMD , this can be from rolling/counting machines or even Grease Filled Die, and the coin is not offcenter enough for it to be worth more than 1 cent.

This is a very common anomaly caused by die wear. That's all this is. No post mint damage, and it's not an error.
