Can't help myself.... I got another $400 of Dollar coins today 15 June 2012 Results are very similar to yesterday's lot of 400: ratio of Commems to Roos is almost identical, only a stray NZ 50c piece was the difference...found in a Chubb roll. 400 coins (minus NZ 2006 50cent) = 399 Aust Dollar coins Mob of Roos 1984 x65 1985 x46 1994 x25 1995 x10 1998 x6 2000 x3 2004 x7 2005 x2 2006 x30 2008 x22 2009 x11 2010 x9 TOTAL = 236 Commems 1986 Peace x6 1988 Bicent x7 1993 Land x12 1996 Parkes x16 1997 Smithy x11 1999 Older x16 2001 Fereration x9 2001 Volunteer x3 2002 Outback x16 2003 Suffrage x2 2003 Difference x3 2005 WW2 x24 2007 APEC x10 2008 Scouts x7 2009 Aged x5 2010 Guides x11 2011 CHOGM x5 TOTAL = 163 Found some Make a Differences this time- none yesterday. Quote: I hang onto all the Make a Difference $1 I find as there was only 4 million minted. I used to keep them all, but no longer do it, not that I'm actively noodling at present, but I have a couple hundred of them and plan to do a cull and put some back in the wild. Same with 2003 20c, I've got too many of them as well.

I used to keep every 2003 20c as well. They take up too much room in my coin box.

With the 20 cents issue, there is always the gap from 1983 to 1993 inclusive. The RAM produced very few for those years, and for 1986 to 1992 included, were produced for mint sets only.
The mint sets for '86 to '92 inclusive are scarcer, because they were broken up for those wishing to complete date sets.

$1000 of 50 cent pieces (2000) over 3 days to 21 June 2012. Obtained from 3 different CBA branches in Melbourne's East.
No 1991 RAM's found at all...just the one each of 1985, 1993 COA's 1979/80 numbers in brackets refer to Double Bar versions, included as part of the total for those years. Didn't look at 1970 Cook dates, or 1994 Family Pretty well spot-on for a 2 to 3 ratio of COA's vs Commems

20 cents (1986 coins) over 3 days to 21 June 2012, as 50c above. One lot of 1000 coins was missing 12......girl was a bit flustered when gathering all the bags together, and may have left a few coins behind... , and another had 3 x 10c, and 2 x 5c mixed in. Tellers aren't as sharp or fussy as they once were! Very few 2001 States coins to be found, ditto 2011 volunteer, and no 1995 UN's at all. I had a conversation with someone today where we discussed whether or not NZ coins would go through the bank machines. Glad to hear they do. I was keeping every foreign coin I found but gave up after I got so many. No prizes for guessing where I'll be taking my NZ stuff tomorrow.

Quote: No prizes for guessing where I'll be taking my NZ stuff tomorrow. Good one just let us noodlers know where they're going to be dropped off, so we can avoid that location...! I did $100 worth of 10 cent pieces (yawn...) nothing much to get excited about: no commems nor any really rare ones to look out for in this denomination. Ah well, done in the interests of finding out what's out there - someone's got to do it. 1000 coins in total. No foreigns found.
