Prethen Pillar of the Community United States 3234 Posts	Posted 06/12/2012 9:40 pm I finally completed a 12-piece gold type set. 1849-O $1 (Type 1) - XF 1855 $1 (Type 2) - PCGS AU50 (great strike for this issue; semi-PL surfaces) 1873 Open-3 $1 (Type 3) - ANACS AU58 1873 Open-3 $2Â½ - Choice AU 1913 $2Â½ - AU (coin looks nicer in hand, but I wouldn't mind finding a better, more original example) 1867 $3 - PCGS AU53 1893 $5 - PCI AU50 (green tag holder; looks MS...mystery graded?) 1909 $5 - PCGS XF40 1895 $10 - Choice AU 1910-D $10 - PCGS MS63 1904 $20 - NGC MS63 1924 $20 - PCGS MS64+ Edited by Prethen 06/12/2012 10:23 pm Report this Post to the Staff

I agree, Classic Heads are up next; or you can expand this set to include both "motto" and "no motto" gold. I am at that point in my type set, and now need to look for a pre-1834 half eagle, which is really tough to find problem free at a reasonable price. Report this Post to the Staff
