I'd say the grade is somewhere around MS63, but that's not a small date. It's a large date.

The two obverse photos do not match each other ... what are you doing here Joe.

The first obverse image is indeed a 1970-S small date ... but the detail photo is a large date.

Not sure what to make of your confusing photos ... please clarify the reason for the different images.

I can see where the confusion in this is. When I looked at the larger pic, I thought it was a different coin also. The problem is the lighting in the large pic makes the curve of the 9's loop look different. So I took and overlaid the pics onto each other (also had to rotate them a couple degrees to match the dates. The dates line up perfectly.

Here is the pic where I took the upper pic, enlarged it, shaded it green, made it transparent, and put it onto the bottom pic. As you can see, the dates match perfectly.
