I know I'm gonna get panned for this but.... The world is going to end on the 21st Dec 2012, according to some experts. The increase in quakes around the world in the last couple of years could indicate that this it actually going to happen. P.S. I'm still buying Christmas presents.  |

I live in south eastern Melbourne so would have felt it quite strongly.........only I am up in Brisbane at the moment so I missed it  But I'm sure the RAM will bring out a commemmorative coin  |

I'm 27 and I'm a Doomsdayist(have been since 7 years old) been called crazy ,mad, etc..(all tests come back as sane)
at the same time I have a family and live life,i have noticed lately people around me are asking questions(they know the answers, just dont want to say it as it's "crazy")but point being since 2001 the world got done over for the last time in our timeline,(happens every generation (30years avg)and we are seeing effect's , economics , "global unrest", strange things on the news, that is plain as day now to those that couldn't see before,(UFOs, metiers and lights,spirals "all Russian rockets of course""phh)
Sad thing is most heard it on the news and still don't get it, as there too worried about getting plastic money to buy plastic things ... oh and facebook .. how could I forget that?
After reading back on this, I do seem crazy, lol, point is 2012 is a 26,000 year galactic alignment that the Mayans (mathematicians and astronomers, rather then crazy jungle people that weren't as advanced as modern man)
There WILL be an event around 21st dec 2012, ( I think another"staged event" 10 times greater then 9/11 that the global world will see in the sky's rather then T.v,
The venus transit(6th june) tugged at the moon , as its not in regular pattern, and I said that there'd be a earthquake in Melbourne this year around 5-mag,(wish I put more bets on,lol)
The point to all this is, 2012 is here we have seen the increase in events after 2000,more so from 2007-2020, the world has be come very "sci-fi" and like the d-day hollywood movie most watch.

IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD, it's the "beginning of the end of the world as we know it" the world wont blow up, nor will a massive asteroid hit and wipe us all out(maybe in 2029-or 2036) but weather it's man made, high powers and manipulations, or just fate ,it is happening if you open your eyes.(its even of FACEBOOK now, I'm sure lots of apps on it, not sure as I refuse to use it, since I read the new contract of 48pgs that most clicked "accept" rather then spend 40mins reading what your agreeing too)
I DO believe if this is all to come the market(not just euro as is long gone,just not announced)The whole stock-market!!
MUST crash before December, and silver and gold are the key(has been the #1 barter and trade for at least 3000 years and is'nt going to not be in anytime period(apart from silver ,as either way if the world collapses its money and trade, and if the world reaches "global peace after 2012 ,silver will be used in future technoligy's as WE must use clean and safe technoligys, otherwise the world WILL end due to "global warming" lol(think about it from both aspects , thats why silver and gold should swap price tags(true silver collectors know whats going on)
Anyway thats my rant, the world will be here in 2013 as will people, 90% of us that are here today will be, but then again if true 90% of us will not be here in 2013(most will be bullion gold/silver stackers)
Before passing me off as crazy, do a little research and sit and "think" before mocking as what happens this year(and something will)will depict the next 10 years(silver and gold will drop, as too make it look weak, dont mess with it to much as it will just over night by double today's price overnight(making it out of reach for most)
The point is the Earthquake was awesome(Think I was the only one in Melbourne jumping around, shacking the walls with ,it demanding for something with a little more effort) and knew silver would take a plunge below 27 this week(and I think maybe 22$ at lowest sometime soon, before spiking up to 45-53$ overnight sometime in november?)
Still live and continue life(as well as planning for Xmas 2012) just be aware, weather most see it or not, things must only progress worse from here, unless ufo's or jesus bring world peace ;) Be aware, Be alert!! But dont be alarmed?
Take care all, and keep collecting as for us, either way gold,silver, coins(tokens) will always keep value over ipads ,visa/mastercards, digial savings account and paper stocks.
I'll definally get panned for this but it's only my "uneducated opinion"as I have no degrees or higher "education" then year 9,but know wisdom is'nt tought at Uni,and truth is not tought in text books, only by looking at the answer then asking the question, if your getting a good laugh or smile out of this, thats great :) , but if you have a family,mainly kids then after having a good giggle think about what we have seen in 10 years, and what they will see in the next 50years!!
So I might start a new poll on here"Where will you be on dec21st 2012" lol might be intersting,
Hold on to some silver and gold this year no matter what "stock charts,media, or "experts say" as I dont belevie any of them were here in 1927.
Ok peace out all, have a laugh, or reacess life, which ever works best for your needs, for me I'm a black sheep, so only logic I stay with the 10% of blacksheep for when the shepperd comes to lead.I'll having 2 partys this year #1(when euro/stock markets crash(Stock"brokers" lol, will have there hands on there heads ,papers on the floor again, i'll have my hands in air singing James Dios "man on a silver maintain")And of course a end of the world party of course.
I hope these events dont happen , but as the years roll on,i try to ignore it, but things only get bigger,faster and closer!!

Reading your post makes me sad for you.
There are so many things wrong with what you post I do not know where to begin, but the main point would be
"A bunch of unrelated events are NOT related to each other"
9/11 was just a bunch of crazy people doing terrible things - not an indicator for the end of the world.
the earthquake in melbourne was just an earthquake - not an indicator for the end of the world.
They are not connected to each other, so why extrapolate that they are?
You are not making well thought out arguments for your case, so why would people take what you are saying seriously?

Which is it?

Nothing in you post uses anything like "cause and effect" to show that anything of any type will happen.
Every day is the end of the world "as we know it" we will never have the world the same as it is today.
That does not mean some sort of "doomsday", just that things move on as they always have.

Oh dear, here we go again: doomsdayers  Recent history, in my lifetime so far 1960s communist scare 1970's oil crisis 1970s next ice age 1979/80 silver spike 1980s AIDS crisis 1980's nuclear war scare 1980s stock crash 1999 Nostradamus 2000 millenium bug 2000s global warming late 2000s drought 2008 GFC I seem to have survived all these......  Bring on 21/12 2012...... The earthquake was a naturally occuring event, and NOTHING to do with Venus (puhleeeze...) Do the maths on gravitational attraction between the two bodies, the numbers will be so small as to be insignificant. |

I'm guessing I am on wrong page, but only my opinion :)
If you have looked into all these modern issues then full respect.
We are only here for a short time, and time has cycles, but no more preaching from me here :)
And 90% here or not in 2013 .time will tell.
1 question as this is a money/coin/bullion forum

Lol yes, of course thats the answer, but in our lifetimes or human exsistance? no such luck(i honestly do wish)
We have to look at the past to see our future.
Penny, with all due respect, you have seen alot and are still here,
The moon has not only effect's on tidal patterns, but also tetonics, as do rare alingments, jupiter has a Major effect on us, as does the sun and venus, science can only come up with big bang and expansion theory, which they constantly change and have no idea about, nostrumiaus said after the year 2000 these things shall pass 1999 was a ref to the new city, and silver birds hitting at 45degrees.

All this is a bit too deep for me. I'm just your average Aussie battler that gets up in the morning and put my boots on one foot at a time and wander off (somewhat reluctantly) to work. I tend not to dwell on the things that could happen, I concentrate on dealing with the things that do happen. If the planet is going to explode into a million pieces I would rather not know about it. Dwelling on the end of the world as we know it, is in my opinion Unhealthy and counter productive. Anyway what on earth does all this have to do with numismatics anyway |

Lostsean may have posted in the wrong forum, but was only carring on from the original post which I'd like to point out had nothing to do with coins either.
Either way It was an interesting read and filled in some valuable time when I should have been working away towards the date when I am being made redundant in July.
Working for a Bank is making me hate the sight of Money right now.
