What's also odd is that Dansco has no official website. Does anyone know how to contact them directly?

They do not deal directly with the public and only wholesale to dealers.

Quote: They do not deal directly with the public and only wholesale to dealers. That is correct, almost. Dansco only sells to distributors. Coin dealers and the general public can only get the albums from a distributor. Ed ANA LM-3175

Check local coin shops. They often have used ones for sale for cheap. They buy collections which often include folders/albums, pop all the coins out for individual sale and then have the empty folders that they'll let go for cheap. I've picked up a couple for my circulated sets (Franklins, Ikes, etc) for 5 bucks or so.

Quote: They do not deal directly with the public and only wholesale to dealers. This is incorrect, at least it was in the 1990's when I last contacted them about some custom work. I was told then, and I cannot see why it would not apply today, that they would make any album I wanted as long as I was willing to pay for it (it was not cheap). Of course, your mileage may vary.

I don't think anyone has touched on this.
The 7070 does not come with the 'gold page'. It must be ordered separately.
I wasn't aware that it was being updated. Was wondering when it would be.

Just checked my usual suspect online: Jakes Marketplace: they're out too.

Had some time to crunch some numbers, so here are the approximate melt costs for the 90% silver, 99.9% silver, and 90% gold coins of the 7070 with the Gold page added (doesn't include 35% silver War Nickel or any commemorative halves or dollars): Silver: approx 10.4 oz. @ $27.25 = $283.40 Gold: approx 3.72 oz @ $1588.57 = $5909.48 That means you can choose your quality on the silver part of the 7070 and make it affordable for you, but you can't touch the coins needed for the gold page for less than $6 thousand. That might be an issue for some folks!

Melt value of the 7070: fascinating. Never thought to do the math; glad you did.

Quote: Gold: approx 3.72 oz @ $1588.57 = $5909.48 This alone significantly more than my entire collection. Now you know why I did not add the gold page to my 7070.

I have been trying to get a 7070 for months now. It doesn't make sense that Dansco wouldn't produce a lot of these considering they are one of the most popular albums.
