Sometimes buying foreign coins by the pound some interesting things can be found. In a recent collection I purchased, there were over two pounds of foreign coins. I pulled out a few that interested me and sold the rest to a local coin shop. I am just getting around to checking the ones I kept. The one I like the most is a 1749 King George II great Britain halfpenny. I messaged one of this sites experts, he told me these were used in circulation in pre-revolution America There were also a couple of interesting tokens one from Great Britain, one from Canada 1812 One penny token from London (dollar size) 1844 Canada Bank token (half dollar size) Not real sure what this one is 1761 Ein Kreutzer Some older Canada coins. I like the large cents, hope to put a complete set of them together someday. There are other coins I did not take pictures of, the British and Ireland large cents I put into rolls when I get them. I hope you all enjoy my little show, just wanted to share how buying pounds of foreign coins can be fun.

These were from a large collection I bought. When I buy collection most of the time I buy the foreign coins by the pound.
That is the same way most coin shop I have been to buy foriegn coins. Of course most will try to pick out the silver coins, but I have found many foriegn silver coins in dealers foriegn coin bins. Many dealers will sell from their foriegn coin bins .. by the pound .. or so much for each coin.

Quote: How much a pound ? I paid $2.00 a pound, $4.00 total. Most of these coins were put together by a collector. There are at least 20 more coins that I kept. Then sold the rest to a local coin shop for $2.00 total. The local shops here buy foreign coins for a $1.50 a pound and sell for $4.00.

I've spent the entire day skimming lots of "world coins" lol. I feel like the nieve unsearched Wheat cent roll buyer again! I've notice some sellers "guarantee three silver pieces per pound" hahaha. I honesty don't care if the lot is worth nothing... I just want to find some real old cool lookin coins! I don't know who to trust. All the sellers have the token "skeezebay feedback" hovering around 96.7% positive.
