Every week I go into the local Half Price bookstore, in the hope that somebody might unload a good used coin book or two. Well, I picked the right day to go in by going today! For $6.99 each I picked up: "Early Half Dollar Die Varieties" (Al Overton) 3rd edition (I know, a little old but for the price, not complaining) "Encyclopedia of Morgan and Peace dollars (Leroy Van Allen) 3rd edition (again old, but for the price? No complaints again) "Flying Eagle and Indian cents" (Richard Snow) "Commemorative Coins of the US A Complete Encyclopedia" (Q David Bowers) "Cameo and Brilliant Proof Coinage of the 1950 to 1970 Era" (Rick Tomaska) "The Complete Guide to Shield and Liberty nickels" (Peters and Mohon) "Standard Catalog of United States Tokens" (Russell Rulau) and for $11.99... "The Early Paper Money of America 5th Edition (Eric Newman). This book was brand-new! My numismatic library got a nice injection of material today! |

Sweet deal! I've been mulling over picking up Rick Tomaskas book for a while. At those prices I would be a buyer all day long.

If all those suddenly appeared, I would look around for signs of a collection dump, also. Could have been a single source.

Good for you, I haven't found many deals at my local Half Price books lately, last deal was a couple of Coin Week magazines for .50 each and two nice Bowers auction s I had wanted (Elliasberg sale and Norweb) for about $7.00 each.
