Bidding on an auction early. Instead, snipe.
Rest in Peace

I quit ebay after Paypal cost me fees.

I was certainly tired of sellers that expected payment 15 minutes after the auction closed and were butt hurt not to get it that fast.

Ausjack - agreed.
Keldaw - your method sounds environmentally unfriendly, and ecologically unsound. Bring back the rope, I say: that way, everything is re-usable, and ultimately recyclable, except, of course, the offender.
Call me soft, but I think Spg's suggestion is best reserved for for first offenders.

Peter, only thing is we have to get roo off it long enough to make some rope and public floggings and the like are for the lesser crimes..it's more about humiliation..Vote AJ for PM I'll sort'em out

A little off topic sorry but I find it funny as my grandfather, father and many other farmers not only here but all over the country grew hemp many many years ago as it is one of the best plants around..good strong fiber and the amount of products made from and that used it was unbelievable..and you can still find some in old homes. I see some of you doing this well before we had teflon tape and 'O' rings we use hemp on taps as a sealer..here see

The-Seven-Deadly-Ebay-Sins

the hemp goes under the nut then tightened up

So there's some useless trivia for ya

Hey AJ, Y'know, I think I might have some of that type of hemp lying around somewhere in the laundry. I remember using it after fixing leaking tap washers back in the 60's and maybe even the 70's.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

Yeah that would be about right, you still see the odd one floating around here and there but hold on to the rope as it's getting harder to get with all the nylons, teflons and the like. Good to see someone knows what I'm on about

Another good one is buying a coin, waiting until you get it in the mail and then then asking for a percentage refund or you'll give negative feedback.Had this happen to me once.Reported it to ebay but they dont even care enough to respond

That sucks steveo1962,Using neg as leverage is really poor form IMO & an absolute pet hate of mine,i don't leave neg feedback often but when I do you can be assured it is absolutely 100% deserved.

This happened to me a couple of years ago, I refused to be blackmailed and I scored a neg out of it.
If the same situation was to arise again I would accept the neg again in a heartbeat rather that bend to blackmailer's

Thou shall not make "Second Chance Offers" for less than three days. Give the potential buyer a chance to receive the offer and think it over.

ebay default setting is one day; not enough time to ensure potential buyer even sees it.
If I make a second chance offer I always select three days.

Yeah,I've been threatened by -FB a few times over the years,I've got out of it by saying send the coin back for a complete refund and typing "CC to ebay Disputes Centre" on the bottom. So far it has worked, they either back off or send the Coin back.

to stevo'62 and the others that have had similar things happen, I am appalled that this type of thing still goes on in "modern society".
trout shows the way as usual!
hey, trout for PM! have we said that before?
hmmm, that makes me think... trout as PM, that would make Nancyc treasurer ('cause she's really into details and is good with money).
AJ, cobba, you would be minister for agriculture (to grow more hemp!) and I reckon you would come in useful to fix a few other things as well!
If only CCF was running the darn place...
maybe enworb as minister for public happiness and entertainment?
Here's a party policy item to mull over, I think those who have the privilege and honor to mint our currency should not be able to sell it to the public at, I don't know, maybe 10%? over the base metal cost plus or minus the face value (or some such algorithm)...
