A good friend of mine who is a postmaster at one of our local post offices gave me the opp to buy this. With all the cut backs they have shut down maybe 10 local PO's auctioning off the old equipment to the employees then the public. The postmaster just won a second safe for which I trade him a 5 oz ATB puck and a 10 oz scottsdale stacker. Now these safes probably cost the the US government at least $3k each as they are very well built and solid. This is the only picture I took of my buddy with the vault. I am gonna need to figure a shelving system but how hard can that be. I am very happy with the deal on this, there is only one other person knows its location so I will split my treasure into two separate locations. Edited by throwbackid 07/15/2012 6:39 pm

Lol one of the few safe where securing it to the floor wont really make a difference. You should be fine as long as they dont bring a crane along lol

Awesome. A large safe is on my list once I buy a house.

I just thought of an idea. How cool would it be to dig a bomb shelter type room in your back yard with that baby and youre collection in there

It's pretty crappy looking on the inside but I will get some shelves built for it. I was in a hurry today to get it and bail out as my godson had his 1st birthday today. Tm when I go to the secure location i'll get some better pictures.

You need to research what to use as shelving, as plywood, standard wood, etc, will combust inside the safe if in a fire.
GREAT find though!

acloco,
I'll keep that in mind but without getting into its current location it is in an all poured cement room, no fire danger.
I will post more pictures of the vault tuesday

You better show us what it looks like when the shelves are done and it's been filled.
