Hello all. I've been trying to get all of my coins in some sort of organized system and I ran across this blast from my past. It was given to me when I was probably 8 or 9 (not a huge deal since I'm only 21) by a friend. Somehow it has managed to stay with me through several moves and now resides as the only resident of a small (coin sized) softwood puzzle box. I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about it. the only thing I could come up with is it was made by the Scovill Manufacturing Company in the early 20th century. Any information pertaining to value, occasion for its manufacture, and/or where the rest of the series (I assume this is a series with a number of presidents) can be purchased would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hey FlyingPenny. I also have one of these, almost exact except yours is in much better condition, and am having a hard time finding much information about it at all. I was wondering if you found any other information about value, manufactured date, etc. since this post.
Feel free to email me. I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I see a few of these on ebay like this one, but without any details.
I'm guessing merchants gave these out to collect and return to their business, such as at gas stations.
In a way, it's rather tragic this bust of Adams is better than on the US $1 coin.

I believe that this medalet is part of some series that originated in the 1960's or thereabouts; perhaps, given away with a purchase and/or sold at historic, tourist sites. There were various presidential sets issued for commercial purposes during the mid-twentieth century. Personally, I pay little attention to the modern, post-Great Depression exonumia.

I think Exo nailed it. This shows in the ANA archives as a 1960's issue. It also appears that this medal was re-struck at a later date. You appear to have the older one.
