Due to the extreme difficulty of edge lettering on Presidential dollars production will be severely limited. It's true! I just heard it on Home Shopping Network.
Rest in Peace

The guys at HSN must think, lettering on the edge of coins is something new. They seem to forget that the mint used that technology 100 years ago, with the Saints. They are such dopes.

I use to go to Comedy Central whenever I needed a good laugh. Now it looks like I should start tuning in to shop at home eh?

That is a sad joke. I have inscribed coin edges on Russian coins dating back to 1817 or something

The oldest I have is dating back to 1720 which is not an incursive edging but extrusive edging. Are the US mints some 200 years behind?

The guys at HSN are not dopes!!! They are professional criminals preying of the lack of coin knowledge the average viewer has while tuning in to their legal "theft" program. Fraud and deception is alive and well in the world but only the rich are allowed to get by with it!
I have seen many a customer (notice I did not say collector) come into my local dealer with the buy of a lifetime wanting to cash in on their holding which were purchased from the HSN or a magazine advertisement only to leave very disappointed and disgusted! The sad part is the mere fact they think my dealer, who is one of the most honest individuals I have ever known, tried to screw them out of their precious holdings! Most folks just can't believe THEY are the ones who got took to the cleaners!

Lsst but NOT least ALWAYS avoid everything where the words RARE or UNIQUE are used. IF something is rare or unique is offered up for sale MOST of us can't afford it and if we can, well it is a con job! The words rare or unique should be just that in the advertising world...seldom seen!

I'm glad I got my RARE coins from the bank before they couldn't mint enough

We can put a man on the moon, but we can't figure out how to put edge letters on a coin. Better call NASA because we need a couple rocket scientists to stop by the mint

You mean the HSN got that info before the COIN VALUT MAN I bet Robert Chambers is mad that the mint did not tell him first.

Hello,

I agree with all of you. I think all of the TV Shows that sell coins like HSN and SAH are purposely trying to rip off the public for a quick buck. I watch those shows purposely just get a good laugh! Everyone knows that the US Mint has come up with modern sopisticated methods to make the incuse edge lettering on the Presidential dollar easy. Its not like they make it by hand like they did with the ancient coins.

Thats my opinion.

I received word today, from a dealer friend in Indianapolis, that stated the Mint has announced they actually did fail to edge letter some of the Washington dollars. This particular dealer is pushing the idea these will be an equivalent to the 1955 double die Lincoln Cent? With that in mind and with the fact he was LUCKY enough to get his paws on a few they are being offered for only $129.00 each. While they may indeed go through the roof someday, which I doubt, I think I will hold on to my money in the event I get a deal on a REAL classic that is already WORTH the money.

Not a lack of a "70" grade in the Proof Wash. and successive issues, as that guy is willing to guarantee said delivery, in a three piece set, for all the presidents. The Mint state coins will only be "67" as those are also rare. They are expertly graded by IGC. This coin series seems to be the motherload for these huxxxrs. I keep getting turned down at the bank.
