Has an of you noticed that this main forum is becoming a World Wide coin forum? We have people here on this Main coin forum from many different countries and places. Might be a great idea for those in other contries that use this forum to attempt to also contact others in other contries to join in here. We could eventually start a great international coin trading forum where coins from all over could be bought, sold and/or tarded without all the problems some have with places like ebay. Would be nice to know just how many countries are represented here already.

Well with busy sections from US, Canada, Australia and Britain it is certainly a world forum.
I think its great to trade with other members, a cheap and convenient way to grow a collection especially at the lower end of things.
Postage half-way around the planet does however take an edge off these trades (trading facevalue coins I paid equal for postage as the face value last week) and I am not sure I am ready to trust a stranger I never met with anything too sizable at present, but I am sure relationships can grow in an environment such as this.

I've been a member here now for over 3 years and I've always looked on it as being a world-wide forum.
I know that the majority of members are US based and most topics are dollar/cents related but there are any number of specific sub-forums that are world-centered.
I have 4 specific sub-forums that I view on a daily basis and have a shortcut for each. I don't think there is a need for yet another one. It took me a little while to decide on just them and they pretty much cover what I'm interested in. I probably miss some topics that may interest me but then the moderators (God bless you one and all) do a great job of re-assigning them to more approprate places.

my link to this site shows all activity since I was last on. I skip a few topics that I am not interested in at the moment. I find it interesting how some subjects migrate around forum, or a topic in one section gets cloned into another section.

The best bit about this forum is that even when the sub forums you usually visit are quiet there is something somewhere else that's interesting.

I started into World coins about 25 years ago because there wasn't enough ancient coin activity going on around me. So I decided to collect World coins of all centuries and cultures, as an extension to my activity in ancient coins.
Then I found the CCF, and I have found a lot of activity in all areas of numismatics, which suits me just fine, thank you very much! Hence the reason why I have posted on almost all sub forms here in the CCF.

I was collecting world coins when I was a kid because they were easier to get (tourists giving me some, that kind of thing... and what tourist could give a coin that's been obsolete for decades?) Then at the age of 18 I discovered our local pre-1900 issues and loved them for a while... but world coins, and generally old and/or interesting/unusual coins returned to being my interest after that. ...I still have a type set of copecks I started back then; and while it'll probably never be anywhere near complete due to multiple rare issues worth over $100, it is up to 21 different types now. But that's where my current interest in our coins almost ends... it's world coins all the way (though nowadays mainly US and British). Oh, and did I mention I'm from Russia?

One way around the postage situation, although not a frequent method, is if there are enough people on this forum from all over the World. And with enough people, there are usually some that travel from place to place and could take some items with, possibly. For example someone from here was going to Egypt so I gave them books and coins to take to a person there. Back when my Son was in the University of krakow, he also traveled to other coutries and sent me coins from most of them. No one, at that time at least, bothered with kids mail from a college. With enough members on just the main forum from all over the World, might end up being a lot of fun trading like that.

Carl, You cant hide my identity that easily, I am the only active member from Egypt If you are going to some coin shows in the future, kindly keep me on your mind when you see some used Dansco albums that you dont need

Quote: Will do. Sometimes I get others like Whitman, Intercept Shields, Littleton, etc. too I dont mind other types than dansco as long as it will allow the coin to be viewed from both sides. Quote: I didn't notice. To busy taking all the time. LOL ... if you keep talking to me you will reach the milestone in the coming minutes

3 posts now. And to the op...it has grown and I think it would be great if we had over 1000 members or 10000 from all around the world. Wonder if mom and dad are up for that. Their gonna have to haze mod interviews. Hehehe
